Helen M Parker

Dr Helen Parker is an early career researcher, having received her doctorate in 2015. Her research interests stem from a focus on obesity and associated chronic disease, and include: the relationship between omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and human health, secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, and the impact of overweight/obesity on health with particular focus on young women with obesity and their experiences navigating the journey towards optimising health and wellness. Helen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, and a senior lecturer (Academic Fellow) in the Discipline of Exercise & Sport Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health, at the University of Sydney. On a more social note, Helen enjoys orienteering, bushwalking and bird watching, and Jane Austen's 'Pride & Prejudice'.
